We're back from Fiji and enjoying the summer weather that finally showed up in CA. We loved getting to go to another place, where neither of us had been before. Fiji was beautiful, tropically warm, and the people were wonderful.
While we were there we did a lot of house visits, meeting with people in their homes, encouraging them that God loves them and desires a relationship with them. We were welcomed with open arms and each family felt so special to have a group of young people travel all the way around the world to sit with them.
Along with the house visits we did a few children's programs that the kids absolutley loved! We had candy, games, stories, dramas, bible stories, and crafts.
We left the church as a big team, about 24 of us, and while we were in Fiji we separated into 3 groups to divide and conqure the island. Our team went to a village called Vusisivo (I'm not sure if I spelled that right). We stayed in that village each night and did the childrens' programs there as well as many services, but we'd walk to the other villages during the day.
We loved sitting with families hearing what God had done in their lives, and Manuel and I had the opportunity to bond with the pastor and his wife who are wonderful people, so loving and helped us with learning the culture.
Leaving is always the hard part of every trip, only because you make relationships and you wish you could continue to hang out with them, but who knows if you'll ever go back.
The best part for Manuel and I however, was watching Sarah Madsen, out intern from last year, working in her element there. She did so well and lead us with authority and passion, we were so proud to be with her!
Thank you to all of you who prayed for us an gave us funnds so we could go, we appriciate you so much!
